105. boston race weekend
We just can't get rid of winter in Oklahoma. I was telling Tasha this morning on our run (35 degrees) that every time I have to put my fleece-lined pants, gloves and ear warmers on that it will be the last time. Except that it continues to not be. Regardless, we had a lovely run this morning.
Other than those early morning miles, today is a rest day for me, getting ready for my first official long run of this training cycle. I've taught a yoga class, done some work at home, done some work at a coffee shop, grabbed groceries, tried to shop for running shorts (Athleta was fresh out) and got my nails done for the race next weekend. Now I'm at home working on a project for our StudiOne's upcoming YogaCamp with Miley in my lap.
In between all those activities today, memories of one year ago and thoughts of one year from now are filling my brain. Last year on this day, Chap and I were headed to Boston for my first ever trip there. We ran in the 5k, went several times to the expo, cheered at one mile to go in the marathon and ultimately I was inspired enough to want to qualify for it myself.
A handful of people and businesses I follow on Instagram are there now and I've been living vicariously through their stories and posts. I can't wait to watch it live on Monday, to train for it over the remaining 15 weeks, to qualify and to be there one year from now to experience it myself! I won't lie, I've gotten a few goosebumps and teary eyes watching some of these internet friends in Boston today - I can't wait for Monday!
